Assignment Title: Trainer for Assistive Technologies for the School for Blind Children Teaching Practices  

Contracting Authority: Open Society Foundation for Albania 

Mission: The EU 4 Inclusive Teaching project is calling for expressions of interest to find an expert/trainer to provide essential training on assistive technologies for the dedicated staff at the School for Blind Children. Our goal is to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to seamlessly integrate assistive technologies into their teaching practices, thereby enriching the learning experiences of visually impaired students.  

Scope of Work: As a selected trainer, you'll play a pivotal role in this noble endeavor. Your responsibilities will include: 

  1. Needs Assessment: 

  • Conducting a Field Visit to the School for Blind Children to understand their infrastructure, teaching methodologies, and learning environment. 

  • Conducting a thorough needs assessment to identify specific requirements and challenges related to integrating assistive technologies. 

  1. Training Program Design: 

  • Creating a tailored training program that directly addresses identified needs and challenges. 

  • Ensuring the training content is practical, relevant, and tailored to the diverse needs of the school staff. 

  1. Training Delivery: 

  • Engaging and inspiring training sessions for the school staff. 

  • Providing hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to facilitate effective learning. 

The local expert selected for this role will be engaged for a total of 5 working days. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • University degree in IT, sciences, education, or a relevant field. 

  • Relevant experience in providing training on assistive technologies or teaching (special education experience preferred). 

  • A demonstrated understanding of the unique needs of visually impaired learners. 

  • Clarity and feasibility of the proposed training program.
